WES HORN Description
Wes Horn is a Davis, California-based sculptor and mosaic artist. His work often incorporates ceramic, steel, cement, and tile elements and is well-suited for outdoor and garden applications. In addition to moderately sized sculptures exhibited in galleries and art fairs, he is actively involved in numerous public art installations and community builds throughout California.
WES HORN Statement
My work is largely an attempt to bring cultural and social elements into human-managed landscapes and gardens. As a sculptor, my focus is often on the geometry of objects and how my works occupy space in the landscape.
Much of my work incorporates seating or other functional aspects, encouraging contact and interaction. Beyond providing desired durability and timelessness, the mosaic medium I use to cover my work also allows me to incorporate a wide variety of both manufactured and natural materials.
It is my desire that my work draws people to outdoor spaces while inspiring new connections between human inventions such as technology and architecture and our managed, natural spaces.
